I have just bought EZ drummer which I have installed OK. I can drag and drop files in to my cubase sx3 no problem. I have added EZ drummer as a VST instrument, again - no bother.
My problem is routing the output. I can make drum beats and drop them into cubase BUT I can only hear them back on my cubase's frankly, crappy drum sound presets (by setting the output to LM7). I want to hear them big and punchy like they do in EZ Drummer. How do I set up my cubase output to do this? Do I need to route them through my interface (which is Line 6 Toneport btw)?
I know the sounds work because when I hit play I can see the level meter jumping in time to the music BUT it's in a different box to where it normally is (for cubase users in the bottom right - mine is showing in green in the box next to it and only on the right).
Does anyone know why this is and how I can hear my drum tracks back in full audio?
I've been using EZDrummer recently and haven't had a problem.
Forgive me if this sounds like a silly question, but are you able to route the output ffor the channel you have the drums on to EZDrummer? This is what I do (on the left hand channel control panel) and it works great. The output should be sent to EZDrummer rather than LM7.
Do the drums from EZDrummer sound if you point and click the drum 'skins' with the mouse? If not it might be a case of having to assign EZDrummer to outputs from it's own control panel if there is one (haven't got it in front of me) as you would on the standalone; y'know, choosing the appropriate ASIO device etc.
