    Default Mini Humbuckers

Does anyone have much experience of mini humbuckers? Recently got a Les Paul with them in (Les Paul Deluxe) and although I like the bite from them the bridge pickup is a bit lifeless. Wondering if anyone has any aftermarket recommendations for a bit higher output maybe? Spoke to Bareknuckle but they don't do any minis, Seymour Duncna have some but no experience with them so would be flying blind a bit! Any help is welcome!

Irongear do mini-humbuckers, never used them though.

I've had them from Catswhisker before and they were really good. Somebody was selling a set on here recently, not sure if they went or not.. Here

As Wez says, both the Duncan antiquities and Lolars get the best reviews.

Is it a 1970's deluxe? if so you might try swaping the bridge and neck pickups around, has worked for me with vintage Gibsons with full sized Humbuckers, frequently the neck is the hotter of the two, Gibson didn't "grade" the pickups back in the day.

That would be me! I've still got them and would be happy to answer any questions if you're interested.

i bought a 70s sg special that came with mini humbuckers about twenty years ago. i thought the guitar was lacking something (i was into high-gain in those days), so i replaced the bridge pup with seymourised mini. to be honest, i didn't really notice much difference.

selling the pickups on ebay about five years ago and replacing the bridge pup with a £10 (artec?) p90 from ebay. it's like a brand new guitar!

a mate of mine has a 79? lp deluxe. he replaced the pups with full-sized duncans and i thought it was the best lp i had played. a couple of years ago he reinstalled the original minis back and he's still happy with the guitar.
