    Default 1st acoustic - recommendations/opinions?

OK so i am in the market for my first acoustic guitar and, although I don't want to spend too much, I want something half decent, preferring at this point, dreadnought.

    I have shortlisted so far:
    Fender CD-100LH
    Lag TL300D
    Sigma DM-1STL

All these are available in left handed models.

    Any opinions/owners opinions? thanks ....

I just traded in a Yamaha for a Sigma and am really pleased I did. Fantastic little guitar, very pleased indeed.

I'd add Seagull/Simon & Patrick (same manufacturer), Faith, Yamaha and Tanglewood to that list - never played a bad one of any of these. You might get all-solid timbers, especially if you keep an eye out for something second hand.

Well, I wasn't going to include Faith in my list cos that's my next acoustic purchase! I know the model I want, you see. This is for entry level money. But Tanglewood and Yamaha are possibles, thanks.

Why not wait a bit (if cash is the issue) and skip straight to the Faith?

Also: my old singer played a bit of acoustic live, and was a lefty. He had a Fender and a Tanglewood (and something else l can't recall) - the Tanglewood was much better, but over twice the price of the Fender.

Make of that what you will. He was a twat, mind.

This. If there's a couple of hundred in it, you'll probably actually end up spending less money overall.
