    Default Smoking

    I are haz quitted!

Had my last cigarette on Sunday night. It's nowhere near as horrific as I thought it was going to be. Or do you get to day five and then it starts to get all psychotic?

Depends on how long and how much you smoked.

I quit after 20 years of smoking. in the last days I was smoking nearly 2 packs a day and it was quite hard. I had to resort to nicotine patches and it took me over a month to stop needing them so much.

Edit: congrats btw, one the best decisions one can make

Close to 30 years. I was on a 12.5g pack of rolling tobacco a day. I have got one of those electronic cigarette things, but so far have only used it for about half an hour before bedtime. Keeping busy is helping I guess, as is toast, lots of toast!

    Well done, fella!

If you fall of the wagon, as it were, jump straight back on as if it never happened, and don't get dis-heartened!

That reminds me: you better start exercising as well otherwise you're going to put some weight on!

Nice one - I stopped 9 weeks ago too. Determined this time not to go back on them. I used one of those electric ciggies (non-nicotine) for first couple of weeks & it definitely helped.

    Good luck!

I could probably do with gaining a bit tbh, but the exercise thing will definitely be on the cards.

Well done, first time I've really tried so I'm hoping it goes as well in a couple of month's time here

I reckon part of the trick is to remember that even when you were a smoker you must have spent an awful lot of time not smoking - you're just extending that.
