    Crap! I just had a roll-up

Moral of the story? Avoid my living room late of night, where my brother might leave his tobacco lying around. Cursed thing just got the better of me.

On the positive, that means I've so far only had one cig this entire week, compared with last week where I had 2 before I even put my glasses on every morning! And basically chain smoked from there on in.

Well done. I hope you never feel the need to smoke again.

I quit last November using Champix. I was smoking 30 a day and had been for 40+ years. I was surprised at how straightforward and stress free it was. Using Champix I had no cravings or strong desire to smoke. I now rarely think of cigarettes and if I do it's more of a memory than a desire.

    Good Luck

You should maybe try to smoke one a day for a week, then one every other day for a week, then one every three days for a week then stop littlegreenman. I smoked only for a few years from when I was 20 until 24 and that's how I quit. Mind you, I only smoked about 5 a day. I then went on to rollies and the amount of tobacco got less and less unTil i stopped.

Giving up was easy - I did it hundreds of times

But seriously, good on yer for a brave decision. Making rules like "not in the car" helps to cut down, and when you're down to the only one you have is outside after your evening meal you've just about cracked it. Chances are in 2 months you'll be not missing a smoke and not long after you'll be thinking what a strangely self-destructive habit it is.

I was a long term smoker, silly really because I didn't take it up till I was about 20. Anyway I gave up a few times for months at a time but always fell back. I am now a non smoker and used that mindset only (I'm a non smoker now). I'm a little chubbier but much happier within myself as a result of not smoking. I still fancy one now and again as I catch a whiff, but Not being a smoker is a massive lift. And I've saved a fortune.
Apparently it takes up to 7 years for your body to overcome the last signs of smoking but the health benefits are very marked in a much shorter time scale (like days and weeks).

Good luck anyone undergoing the stop.

Exact same story for me man, last November too. They should give that shit to kids. Still dream about smoking a lot though, but it's more anxiety about going back to it. Hoever, during awake time, I have next to no interest in smoking.

    Champix for the win...

giving up when you dont want one isnt what giving up is - recognise when you do want one and remind yourself that getting over this hump is what giving up is
