+1 to that! Look at the colour of the sand! Gorgeous, but I bet it was blowing a bit.

Isn't sand generally that colour, ie sand?
It was certainly windy on Sunday, and I almost turned back before reaching the lighthouse but I knew I only had one chance to get some daylight pics so carried on. Tiring but worth it, and my dog enjoyed the trek!

Erm no. You clearly haven't been to Blackpool, Morecombe, Skeggy, etc etc. Our sand mostly looks like ground mud. Oh and when I was a nipper I spent a few years in the Bahamas (parents were teachers in a British school there). There was a beach on a place called Harbour Island where the sand was actually pink in certain lights..

Good work on the pics though - stirling effort.

+1 you have put me to shame after I didnt manage to get any. I was thinking about getting some in the snow... but that would've meant going outside in the snow

I wanted snow! There's been showers here but nothing's lying.
As for the sand- we've got amazing beaches up here. I have been to Blackpool beach, but all I remember is that it smelled and the donkeys looked really unhappy

I went to Fuerteventura ( spll?) and on parts of the island they had black sand. Amazingly black.

OMG I want a holiday. Still, four days in the Forest of Dean coming up. May not be a beach there though.

Try Iceland. They have black sand the whole way round. Bit cold for sunbathing tho

Where is it they do all those coloured sands in little bottles? Isle of Wight? That's quite exotic by my standards.

Presume the TPO wedding/auction is soon so am very curious to know how much it goes for.
