Default Endless reverb tail loop over drop

I have no idea how to describe this which is why I'm posting on a forum rather than googling. I've heard the effect a few times but it can be heard here in the new Calvin Harris track. I managed to replicate it in my last track by using Paul's Extreme sound stretch and crossfading the stretched audio into the unstretched, but this took a lot of tweaking to sound reasonable and I doubt it's the way it's done usually, I'm probably missing something really simple. Can anyone shed some light?

    Thanks

    Buy Audiodamage Eos

    Switch on infinity mode

Use sidechaining to duck the reverb tail

    Job done.

Thanks for the reply, it's a shame there doesn't seem to be a demo for it. Do you think this is the plugin most people use to get the effect? I'll check it out

I use the Axe FX looper set on a 100% wet reverb block.
Putting some sort of subtle modulation effect between the reverb and the looper helps give it movement.
    Quad chorus is nice.

You could replicate this in a computer with any reverb and Mobius looper.

Ableton Live's reverb has a 'freeze' button which you can automate.

wow, I'm disappointed in myself for not noticing this! I have live and it's great that I now have a solution which doesn't require any third party plugins. Still a tricky effect to get but simpler than my previous method. Thanks!
