Default Okay... bit of a bizzare question...

But those little mini amps like the Orange micro crush and the Marshall MS2... what would it take to turn them into a pedal?? As simple as gutting it, putting the PCB in a case, and taking the speaker output to a jack output... or would you need to add any extra shit??

Most of them have a headphone out... Probably better to use that than the speaker output???

I used to use a Marshall microstack as an OD pedal when I was a kid.

No, it's as simple as putting the PCB in a case.

It works ive done it with an M2, which literally was putting it in the signal chain and fucking about with it.

my results were horrid... I did once use an old pre amp from a super old ferguson vinyl player as an OD pedal which was literally wiring the speaker wires to a jack, taking the audio from the turntable and adding another...I was so worried id kill myself I stopped using it..sounded good tho.

If you decide to try it with an M2, there's some mods you can do to boost the output. if you use it as a head alone, they go can get quite loud.

    Why?

Anyway! Extra "shit" would be a bypass switch which is going to be passive unless you can either break into the necessary point in the circuitry or build a buffer.

Just make up a stereo mini-jack to mono 1/4" cable and you're good to go. No need to rehouse it if you just want to see what it sounds like inline.

I was playing through one of them (into a JCM900 combo) when I had one of my passing-brush-with-megastardom moments when I was stage teching some years ago... sounded great.
