Default Your Top 10 Albums of 2012?

This is difficult. For me. They're not in any particular order. So much good stuff has come out in the past 6 months.

    1) "Hot Cakes" - THE DARKNESS
    2) "Music From Another Dimension" - AEROSMITH (released beginning of November)
    3) "Apocalyptic Love" - SLASH FEAT. MYLES KENNEDY & THE CONSPIRATORS
    4) "La Futura" - ZZ TOP
    5) "The Connection" - PAPA ROACH
    6) "Last of a Dyin' Breed" - LYNYRD SKYNYRD
    7) "Head Down" - RIVAL SONS
    8) "Afterglow" - BLACK COUNTRY COMMUNION (released end of October)
    9) "Black Rabbits" - GRINSPOON
    10) "The Connection" - PAPA ROACH

Things that are coming up hopefully this year/early next year:
    - New Buckcherry
    - Heavens Basement debut album
    - The Datsuns new album should be good based on 2 singles

All I can think of that I have bought the year and have rated are:

    The Killers -Battle Born
    John Mayer -Born and Raised
    Ry Cooder -Election Special
    Flamin Lips -Heady Fwends
    Alabama Shakes -Boys & Girls

Have also bought The Darkness, Steve Vai and Mumford & SOS but haven't got round to listening to them yet so can't comment.

I was quite surprised to discover how few albums from 2012 I have, when I checked my iTunes library - partly it's because I've downloaded a lot of individual singles instead of albums, and partly because a lot of what I thought of as "this year" albums were actually released late last year...

Of the actual 2012 releases -

Lana Del Rey - Born To Die
Garbage - Not Your Kind Of People
    Killers - Battle Born
    "Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand" - Homer Simpson

Just remembered Sigur Ros's Valtari. So that's 5 I've enjoyed this year. Any more good stuff due?

    Choosing 10 will be difficult...

Devin Townsend and Sylosis both have new ones out, which are probably really good but I haven't checked either of them out properly yet. I don't think I've even heard 10 this year that have really grabbed me, so in no particular order:

    Swans - The Seer
    Periphery II
    Veil of Maya - Eclipse
    The Faceless - Autotheism
LostAlone - I'm a UFO In This City

I think that's just about it.
My name is Connor and I have a GAS problem.

I also have some videos of myself playing guitar. Here they are.

That, or, I forgot about Band of Skulls' 2nd album was actually released in 2012... Way, way better than Papa Roach.

    I'll change my list.

    It changes every day.

Either Band of Skulls or Rival Sons should replace that Papa Roach album and become a mainstay after a second listen to PR.

It's got nothing on the last PR album.

OK, I'm listening to the new Sylosis album "Monolith" which I mentioned above, and it DEFINITELY goes into my list - I've just finished track 7 and it's an absolute fucking knockout so far.

    It's streaming here:

Well-written, well-produced melodic death metal with a bit of doomy heaviness mixed in, and some face-melting shred solos sprinkled on top.

    Magnificent.
