Anyone else sick of Joe Bonamassa and BCC
Let me start by saying Ithink JB is a great player but I am getting a little sick of hearing the same old songs on every album. I first heard him online playing a live version of "If heartaches were nickels" and I loved him from the start and bought his CDs (love the song Sloe Gin) but ............ One day I heard him being interviewed and thought he sounded like Kermit the Frog talking! This put me off a bit. I bought the first BCC CD - awesome ... then I suddenly realised that he is all over the rock media - magazines, radio, Internet etc. He is played on Planet Rock all the time and when a song of his comes on I switch off mentally. All his solos sound exactly the same within a blues rock format.
The bottom line is that although I appreciate him, he is over marketing himself and releasing too many records. I also think his guitar sound was much better before and it now sounds a bit processed - maybe the mixing or mastering but t does not flick my switch.
Anyone else feel this way?

Yes. Although THB, I've never really liked him. His playing always seems too 'studied' if that makes sense? He clearly has a lot of technique, but I find his 'feel' lacking. That over-blown big Les Paul rocky-blues thing has been done to death.
I detest him and everything he stands for.
I like the BBC though.

Took me a while to buy any JB stuff though. I've got the Albert Hall live one and the latest one (driving towards...) both of which I think are great. So I guess I've not had the chance yet to get bored or jaded.
Of course he's not played an original note in his career, but the guitars sound great, and it's perfect music for my motorway journey home from work.
White man blues... It's all soulless bollocks. It's music for rednecks and SoCal corporate functions. It's udder crap!
He'd benefit from a front rpw seat at a Brad Paisley concert, and an intimate relationship with a good songwriter.
