    Default Laptop wanted

Thinking more desktop replacement (15" plus) rather than super portable - what you got?

    I've got a 18.4" Acer Aspire 8920G, it's exactly what I bought it for.

You good with computers? It has a problem, somehow the battery won't charge and thus rarely turns on. However it seems the female connector for the PSU is dodgy and/or the PSU needs replacing, I'm not entirely sure.

Apart from that, it works perfectly. Sitting in its case doing nothing now and I could do with the cash, so looking for £250 posted if you're interested.

I can replace this but obviously the laptop would need to be shipped to and from me which might be expensive, but to replace the jack inside the laptop I charge £30 + parts.Roughly £40 in total. After two way postage I'm not sure how that would compare to your local PC store.

I have a 2007 MacBook which you could have for £300 plus postage.

Edit: Just read your first post again, and saw the 15" bit. Mine's only 13", alas.

Ditto, I have a pretty nice HP Probook - but also 13", so I will also say "alas" :0(

Thanks for those offers chaps, on reflection I don't think either are right for me.

Btw I think I want something with a recentish chipset as a minimum (i3,5,7)
    Thanks

I've got a Dell D820 which can probably go...

    Core 2 Duo 2GHz (4MB version)
    3GB RAM
    160GB hard drive
    15" 1920x1200 display (no, that's not a typo - it's really high resolution)
    256MB NVidia Quadro NVS120M graphics

Only thing is the battery's basically dead, but you can get replacements for about £30 on eBay. Other than that, it's in good condition - no doubt there are a few scratches here and there, but I haven't noticed them.

Looking at eBay, £170 delivered seems like a reasonable price.
