Ambient show ideas?
Hey everyone. I have had the opportunity of playing live come up, and I just can't think of much set wise for my music. It's ambient/chill type stuff. So I have been thinking lights of course, blue and red's, and then i just get lost. I have no idea where to take it.
anyone done ambient shows?
Was involved in one years ago. We had a laptop and a projector which projected images onto a large screen behind us. You could look at something like that or some black and white film.
As Fretwired mood lights screen with moving images one or two of those oil projector lamps and maybe some actors/dancers doing odd things
Last one I did had most of these however quick word of advive assuming you'll be using computers etc check all volumes are turned up on computer and sound card! The guy doing the comps on that show swore blind all were then after much cussing found out that although the lap volume was up full the volume n his soundcard had defaulted to off obviously all my fault!
where would be a good place to look for these? I like both ideas. The black and white film is really sticking in my mind though
Your local lighting hire company is a good place to start, or search themed events in google.
but also give your local college of FE/performing arts a try for likeminded design students
