    Default Killers - Battle Born

It's been sinking in for a fortnight now. I love it. I knew I would. Hated it on first listen, but I always do with Killers records.

Ha ha, the same, loved Runaways from about the second listen but the album was a huge disappointment at first but its just started clicking in the last few listens and I think it's gonna be a corker.

Between Heart of a Girl, Miss Atomic Bomb and Rising Tide I'm really loving it. Far more subtle than the other records, which isn't what I wanted from them, but it's no bad thing

All killers records are the same. 4 amazing timeless classics and 6 meh tracks, and this one is the same!

I'm actually the other way round - loved it on first listen, then found I was possibly too easily impressed. I agree that it's too similar to a lot of their previous stuff - a lot of the same changes and melodies recycled. It's not bad, but not outstanding either - and that's after several more repeated listens. Unfortunately a few of the places where it's most different from previous Killers elements are because it's horribly cheesy - there are a couple of changes that are just cringeworthy (in Rising Tide especially). On balance I think it's the least good album so far - not different enough to be really different, but not quite good enough to get away with being the same as the others. Not sure if I should remove it from my list of 'best albums of 2012' or not...

Be Still is probably my favourite song.
