Rachmaninov's Etudes Tableaux (2nd set) played by Kissin through my lovely new hifi :-) it's so incredibly realistic it's making me feel uncomfortable!!

Well done MBV, a great follow-up after only 22 years.
I liked the first sort of 5 or 6 tracks up until "New You" (I think thats the name) then it get's a little bleh. I can't wait for the vinyl to arrive and crank that up on the hi-fi that's going to be fun!

Maybe the last three tracks are ones that KS did whilst working with Primal Scream... I think track 8 (nothing is) is the one I find most irritating!
I'm listening to the album on the studio monitors at work right now, and maybe it isn't loud enough, but it isn't as 'big' as I was expecting. I'll up the volume later when I've had another coffee! Some great guitar sounds though (unsurprisingly).

Currently listening to an album that I revisit on a regular basis: Mansun - Six

Truly one of THE most underrated and overlooked albums ever. Forget the fact that they were darlings (briefly) of the indie press - this is f*cked up, dark, proggy weirdness at its finest.

In fact I'd go as far as saying it's one of the best albums ever recorded. Yes, indeed.

I HATED it on first few listens, it's one of those that takes a bit of time to get under your skin, and one clip isn't going to give you an idea of the many joys within (e.g. a spoken-word cameo from Tom "Doctor Who" Baker), but still...

EDIT: Caution, video contains NSFW lyrics

NBA Lockdown podcast with Bruce Bowen. Discussing the Celtics' season.

    Before that, Kate Nash.
Fender 1997 California Series Strat, Fender CP 50s Strat, Fender 50th Anniversary MIJ '52 Tele, Fender Std Tele (being refinished)
All through a VOX VT20+, stomp boxes = redundant.

    SPC ECO.

It's like Curve only went away to relax, and they've come back all soothing. True, it's only one of Curve, but that hardly matters.

Yeah, they definitely sound like they were written separately. You know, I actually prefer Nothing Is to Wonder 2, there is just something about that last track I really don't like.

I know what you mean about it not sounding quite as big as you'd expect. Kind of sounds like it's missing all the reverb you expect from them or something. The fuzz sounds are amazing though, would love to know what was used on the guitars!

I'm on my second listen through of mbv and I'm disappointed. It doesn't strike me as a record that was worth making.
