No - the pole piece screws are not removed. You just push the covers on and then make 2 solder joints at the base of the covers. I have had 3 different covers on these pickups so should be no need for wax potting (and I didn't even solder them).Hmmm - VERY interested! How easy is it to fit the covers? Soldering the covers on is much easier than actually soldering them to the pots, so if you were planning to do that yourself you'd have no problem.
Anyway have a bump on me, some of the best PAF type pickups at a great price!
