You seem to have carefully avoided any gigs in the Midlands!

Shame, as my kids enjoyed my welsh language folk rock phase much more than my hip hop phase and it could have been a family outing.

Not really sure of the typical venue size you are playing? a lot of the venues will be rock or tribute act places.

I did think of the people who organise Moseley Folk as they organise some interesting gigs outside of the festival although darn work PC won't let me look on their web site. Their idea of folk encompasses Tinariwen and Echo and the Bunnymen as well the Unthanks and the like.

Maybe also thinking modern arts centres rather than spit and sawdust venues like The MAC in Cannon Hill, Birmingham or the public in West Bromwich.

University of Birmingham Guild of Welsh students? Though that might be 3 people and a dog for all I know...
