^ I got the Ikea cabinet set-up already, and it works like a charm...Just don't have a pic.
    Haha at your other ideas.

Basically, all you have to do is put slot wall in the inside back and cover the whole inside with velour or whatever material you want...It's two tier, and the guitar hooks fit on the slot wall in back...The mirror in front is for her.

I may work the false floor and spring angle for the half stack.

Seems to me the amp makers have missed a trick here..

Maybe Lous Vuitton or Chanel could get together with lets say Marshall, and cover an amp in quilted leather decorated with patterned logos, add some elegant gold handles and Swarovksi sparkly bling bits and you have an amp that any Essex girl would be proud to show off in her lounge

^ or a fake fire-place front facade on the cabinet...She'd be none the wiser..Especially if there are working fake flames during down time....Now i'm just eying my stereo stand, and I'm convinced I can rig a board with casters on it where I can mount my Pod Hd pedal board, and just slide it in and out from under the stand at will.

It's funny how when I was baching it, my gear would be a source of pride, and there was no need to cleverly "incorporate it" into my living space. My gear being in your face, , along with beer steins, and posters was what made the character of my past apartments..When we were dating, I designated her a cupboard...Now, I basically have a shoe-box!

    It happens, dude.

Some good ideas, suggestions and gear-housing solutions here. Maybe one of the numerous makeover shows will transform a musos room one day....

Wife was doing the occasional moaning about me guitars always cluttering up our spare room. We had not long got rid of our single bed there so for once had a brain wave and made a combined window seat (for our dog)/ guitar box that holds 3 guitars in their cases etc. Dogs happy and wifes happy just as long as I keep the room reasonably tidy lol.

When you move, go to a 3-bed house but tell her it's to a 2-bed house. Build her a massive wardrobe against the wall between your room and the 3rd bedroom, but make a door in the back that goes through a hole in the wall to the 3rd room. The 3rd room is of course your playroom. She gets the huge wardrobe, doesn't have to see your gear, you get to keep your gear the way you want it. Win!

The reality is, IF you have a shoe box for your stuff now and your the musician in the family. You would still only have a shoe box for your stuff, if She was the musician in the family.

Solution, Put her arm up her back, march her out into the street and throw her back in the gutter where she belongs! Then wake up look down under the duvet and realise you still only have pips for plumbs and it was all a dream!

Just watch out you don't step through and find yourself in a parallel universe with talking lions, they can be a bit bothersome.
