    Default More pedalboard questions

Just finishing off buying my pedals (it'll never stop!), researching good power supplies - the Gigrig system is looking good - and now need to look at cables. I don't want to buy the George L/ Lava/ Planet Waves kits and already have loads of good quality Neutrik plugged patch cables. The problem is these plugs are ma-hooo-sive! So I am looking at buying small jack plugs, which will enable the pedals get closer together. Have you any suggestions as to where I can get some? Also, what kind of cable would I get to go with them?

I've been researching the very same this week.

Other than pancake jacks which are a faff to solder and quite wide, the smallest profile seem to be the new Diago ones, but they aren't available yet, and tbh I can't see that they'll be any different to the George L's in use. I fancy trying the Bullet ones- very slim for a "full size" plug, and don't rely on a bent cable, which should make them very reliable

It sounds like you want to solder your own, am I right? If you want premade I have heard good things on here about a guy called Rob Davies at Kabl Cables in Hampshire. He can build you custom patch cables and can get Pancake jacks also if your pedals are close to each other. I'm 99% sure that is where I will get mine.

The Voodoo Lab Power Suppies are very good depending on which pedals you have, one of theirs will probably suit your needs, check out which one suits your pedals. The Pedal Power 2 + can power 8 pedals(2 of which can be high current consuming pedals like Strymons etc).

If you have heard of Pedaltrain Pedalboards it's handy to know that Voodoo lab must have some sort of thing going on with them as you get the brackets to mount the Voodoo Lab Power Supply when you buy a Pedaltrain Board.

I've just gone from George L to Lava patch cables and the Lava seem more intrinsically reliable and are the smallest of them all.

Be mindful if you go with a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power that it will make most Wahs hum like fuck. As a result I moved to the Gigrig plus isolators for those pedals that need them
    Red ones are better.

Guys check out the new Joyo psu, has loads of isolated 9v 100mA outputs, a 500mA 9v, and 12 and 18 volts too. Its small too.

    50 bucks!

Hadn't seen those Diago patches before, they look pretty good with a few small improvements on George L's. I personally haven't had any issue with George L's on the proviso that if I'm replacing / rearranging a pedal then I may need redo the associated cables. Once in place they're fine, and having them sized to length with small plugs is essential to me.
