keep an eye on thomann- they still have good deals on the jet city combos, but the heads are out of stock. But they might get them back in- if they do, the new price thomann sells them for might not be any more than the usual s/h price over here...

I like what I've heard and read about the Jet City amps. The 50W combo on Thomann is tempting and wouldn't break the bank...

I used to have the HT1R combo. Through its own speaker I thought the volume was about right for the house, though sticking it through a cab with V30s you could get a nice 'loud' home volume, not loud enough for a band but that isn't what it is for. It sounded pretty nice through my 2x12. Here is an old video I made with it.

Chris Coda Music have a s/h Dual Rec at £1199 http://www.coda-music.com/mesa-boogi...d-p-13055.html and they're often on Ebay for less.

Having spent more time with my Ironheart 120 head I'd say take a look at that for another cheap option, new you can get the 120 for £549 at the minute http://www.dv247.com/search/0/0/Rele...y+ironheart/1/ and used they're going cheap also. The volume controls are really smooth, no big jumps in volume, which makes it easy to use in the home. I'm planning on doing some recording with it this weekend, I'll stick a clip up in here if I manage to get it done.

I just googled that Jet City 50 watt combo from Thomann though, man that is a good price

Remember that there are two 50W Jet City combos, both of which are sold on Thomann - and they're not even remotely the same amp. The JCA5012 1x12" combo is basically the JCA50H with a speaker attached. The JCA5212 2x12" combo is an entirely different beast - the clean channel is the same design as the Soldano Lucky 13's clean, and the drive channel is the Normal channel from the JCA100H/JCA50H/JCA22H, or the single-channel preamp from the JCA20H. The 2x12" also has independent EQ for each channel, whereas all the other 2-channel Jet City amps have shared EQ.

Orange AD15 for a made in England alternative to the Tiny Terror. Sounds bigger IMO as well.

    H and K TubeMeiser 38
38 watts for Gigging and you can take it all the way down to 5 and 1 watts for bedroom
