I have the Xotic EP Booster and love it.

As an added bonus...........it's very small and only takes up half a pedal space on your board - the pedal equivalent of a Smart Car.

    Highly recommended

Big Muff. Halfway between a fuzz and a distortion and very loose-sounding by pedal standards.

I just got a TC electronic spark booster to push my Laney GH50l and it's fantastic. I use the fat boost setting and it makes the tone sound huge. The GH50l is quite an open sounding amp and the spark booster is completely transparnet so it just makes the tone i love that wee bit bigger.

I'm not really bothered by the josh holme thing tbh I was just looking for a point of comparison.

At the moment for recording I'm using a POD on the high gain models and the "vetta juice" model to push them into meltdown.

My blackstar can do a few things but it cant do meltdown on its own. OD2 seems like in addition to more gain it adds that TS style bass cut I hate.

From your description, I suggest the OCD. I also like the Xotic BB Preamp, but it might be a bit too TS-like.

Looking fwd to giving it a whirl

What is it with kids ? One clears off to the US to work... the other follows ! Nice & peaceful.
