Default Best 'build your own electric guitar' kit?

Hey guys, as I'm sure some of you have seen, I've just finished my refin project and now I want to do something else, so I'm thinking of getting a guitar building kit. I just want a precut body and neck, really, though any half decent budget hardware (wilkinsons?) included would be good, too. Are there any decent kits out there? Has anyone had any experience of such kits? Even if they come with everything and I have to bin some awful pickups...

Here is one I've found, just as an example - I'm not looking to buy just yet, but it's birthday time soonish...

    Thanks!

Are you looking at finishing the neck and body yourself?

Check out Warmoth- they do necks and bodies you can slap together.

Yeah, that was my first thought but being in the UK and all that... ¬_¬

Allparts have some, but they're a bit pricey.

The problem with the UK is anything made here will generally be more expensive than anything Warmoth can make, particularly if you are prepared to go for something pre-made and available in their online shop.

You have less say about colour, bridges etc but for most people they are fine.

Bear in mind that Warmoth have virtually no resale value, but that is the same with anything yu might put together from Allparts and other parts suppliers really.

What do you want that you can't get from Fender/Ibanez/Yamaha etc?
Most of the time it will be cheaper to mod an existing guitar that is relatively close to what you are after.

I just want to have something I can have some fun with. I really fancy either a metal guitar or a telecaster with a bigsby... I'll probably opt for a cheap 80's guitar or a squier tele, and refinish and mod that. Probably works out much cheaper, and I'll guarantee myself a playable guitar!

    Tonetech?
They do a Strat kit HERE

DIY Guitar Shop do kits too, though I think stock levels can be a bit patchy.

I've used Guitarbuild once and it wasn't the best experience. However our own Mrerikryman has used them a couple/few times and didn't seem to have the issues I did.
Somewhere, somehow, somebody must've kicked you around some

I must add, I haven't used any of these companies. They are just the ones which have come up in previous threads.
