Default Tele '72 Custom Neck Pup recommendations

So I'm totally loving this old jap 72 I procured recently. It has an Adrian Turner wound bridge pup which is bloody amazing but the neck pup is a bit of a one trick pony. It's beautiful clean with some 'verb or delay but with gain it gets real muddy and looses all definition.

Anyone recommend me a replacement that doesn't suffer these issues?

There is only one choice really.

    The Creamery
I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that.

Yeah, or Lollar, or an original off eBay. Any which way, it's gonna cost you, unless you give up the idea of a WRHB and change the pickguard for one that will fit a nice PAF or mini-hb.

Ouch. Creamery sounds amazing but £125 is a bit steep at the Mo!

I'm working on WRs at Oil City too but my source of covers/back plates (have to be imported) cost £40+ for the pair to make one pickup ... I think you will find all the vital parts cost a bloody fortune, so you either have to sell them break even, as a service, or charge a fair whack. The Far Eastern mass market pickup makers won't clear enough units to even tool up to make them ... so you are left with us tiny manufacturers.

Yeah, wholly appreciate that mate. My experience with wolfetones I have in my burny has taught me that good pickups are worth their weight in gold.

Simply put, to get what you want, you have to be prepared to pay for it!

Cream T Pickups 'GTR' or new Billy Giibbons 'Banger' model, can't believe no on else has already mentioned it.

On a slightly less idiotic note, is it a 'proper' wide range pickup on yours or is it like all of the recent Mex resissues in that it's a normal humbucker in a Wide Range 'can' with wax filling the gap ?

Because if it is couldn't you get someone like Ash to make you a better or different humbucker and stuff it in that cover for less than £125 ?

Mind you, if it was me, and at the risk of sounding like a stuck record, I'd get a new plate cut for it and stick a TV Jones Supertron in it. BOOM..

Marc at Mojo Pickups Wide Rang effort is absolutely stunning, I just bought a Pair off him for a build ive just completed for a mate to go in his telecaster, £155 a pair is a bargain as far as im concerned, check out his stuff before comitting to an insanely overpriced item that's virtually identical..Plus Mojos dont have an absurd logo saying The Creamery on the front too!

As an addendum, due to the interest in WRs I have accelerated my development of my own WR clones. First ones will be available by the end of October with a bit of luck, and will significantly cheaper than some other alternatives. They will be available with four conductor wiring, and with the choice of vintage, super hot or isometric wind (no cover logos either).
