Yeah still in Harwich so would be up for meeting up. Might be a while before I get a chance though as my weekends are pretty stacked with worknand gigs etc. You're near Ipswich aren't you? Or am I thinking of someone else? It was easier to keep track with avatars!
Just west on the A14. No urgent rush, Ive had these two drivers for about a year so a few more weeks is no problem. When we can get together it will be a good excuse to test in both combos. I could bring my Plexi for you to hear and use as a reference. I just need the excuse to cock about with amps and this could be it.

Sounds good. Once things get a little less hectic we'll sort a day out.

Anyone know what size pot those volume boxes use? Might knock one up for rehearsals.

Anything from 10K to 1Meg will work, Log taper. I'd go halfway (in a logarithmic sense ) and make it 100K if you're going to buy one rather than just using something you have to hand.

Lots of all-round gorgeousness there. I do think a bit of judicious lacquering would cap it off nicely.

I've also got a couple of Jensens in my fender amps (C12N and C12K respectively) and FWIW really like them. The C12N I believe is rated up to 100w so should work fine in the blues deluxe. Very nice AASing there

No, 50W - unless you want to believe the highly optimistic "music power" rating - but still enough for a Blues Deluxe which is not quite a full 40W either.

Oops - I meant to type "C12K" originally in that sentence. Would there be much difference using the C12N instead of the C12K in a blues deluxe?

You'd get more clean headroom and a bit more bottom-end punch with the C12K - it has a bigger, more open tone than the N. I'm still not convinced it's a real 100W speaker either, but that doesn't matter here.

I'd go for the K if you're aiming for the cleanest clean sound, and the N if you want a more Tweedy overdrive.
