The menu is based on meals from 1000AD until about 1800.

Google "Meatfruit" for an idea of what you get.
    Amazing stuff.
I've seen the meat fruit on one of his tv programmes - think it might have been a medieval banquet. Pretty incredible.

Will have to check it out.

What really amazed me was that even things that I really didn't like the sound of and I would never order in a billion years given a choice (umbles being one of them) tasted incredible.

I have come to work this morning to find that this happened at a bar we have done work at - which is owned by a guy we've done quite a bit of work for at a couple of other venues.. small world.

Spot on, yes it's possible to lead a "normal" life with out a stomach/bowel parts (I know from experience....). You'd need extra vitamin's, and probably other medication to live "normally".

Having had "freezer burn" on my arm from LN, I can confirm it's nasty stuff.

There's a school of thought regarding handling it that says gloves can potentially be worse than not-gloves as if you get some inside the glove you're pooped, but a small splash on the hand wil evaporate befor actually coming into contact... so how fast did she have to down this drink in order to still be -300degrees C?

Unless most of the drink was liquid nitrogen in some sort of heavily insulated container which would be asking for troubles...
It wouldn't warm up to room temperature instaneously. There may not have been, strictly speaking, any liquid nitrogen left in the drinking vessel but it's cold enough to have cooled the other contents to a level significantly lower than the body is capable of dealing with. The specific heat capacity of water is huge, for example, meaning that it takes a massive amount of energy to warm it up.

I used to work with liquid nitrogen back in the day. It's not as bad as people think if you get small quantities on the surface of your body but you wouldn't want anything as cold as that inside your stomach.

I've read reports that it might not be her entire stomach that needed to be removed.

But she'll get loads of compensation and will probably never get fat. Living the dream.

Quite simply this has to be one of the most stupid things I have heard of in a long time.

Even if no liquid nitrogen is ingested (which would cause near instant freezing of any tissue it connects with), the liquid and glass it is in contact with must be cooled to such an extent that they are a risk for freezing on contact as well.

Remember being in Canada with temps as low as -20 deg C (albeit with a wind chill) and the warnings were not to touch any metal surface with bare skin otherwise the skin would be frozen to it almost instantly. Now reduce the temperature by another 180 deg C!

The woman will probably suffer no serious long term effects apart from an inability to process a large number of vitamins, minerals, protein etc which will require her to be on a modified diet for the rest of her days
I fart in your general direction! Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries!!!
