T-Rex Tonebug series pedals - misleading name?

I recently managed to pick up a tonebug distortion for a nice price and I'm really happy with it. I've noticed a fairly mixed response to the series in reviews, but my main hangup is that they are larger than they look! I thought they'd be about the size of the old danelectro/ibanez soundtank pedals, but actually they have a very similar footprint to Boss pedals. Certainly the name tonebug conjures up images of something much smaller than their regular pedals. In fact, I bought it with the vague intention of using it on a compact board!

The distortion is rich, smooth, cleans up nicely and all the usual platitudes. I certainly can't fault the sound or the solid build quality. However, the footprint kind of bugs me and since they are priced between/around Boss and TC electronic pedals, it would be nice if it did a little more/was a little smaller. Obviously multiple pots don't necessarily make a pedal better, but when you compare the tonebug reverb to the TC Hall of fame reverb it looks a bit lacking.

Does anyone else feel the same way about their tonebugs?

I had the reverb. It was decent sounding and I found myself unconcerned by the size.

The Ibanez Soundtanks are about the same size footprint as a Boss too. It's just the shape of the casing that makes them look a bit smaller.

By God you're right! Must be my memory playing tricks on me. I think the last time I saw one in the flesh was about 5 years ago. As for the tonebugs, I guess I see the bright colours, basic control layout etc and it reminds me of the old danelectro mini pedals.
