    Default Montage Cabs

I picked up one of their cheaper 1 x 12 cabs from lean business (£106 unloaded with next day delivery) and have to say it is really bloody good. Proper birch ply, light as a feather (well a 10kg feather) removable back panel and a good size. My intention is to run 2 of them to save lugging a 2x12 around.

I am still bedding in the speaker (two rock 12-65) but it sounds great so far.

Only downside is I found it very difficult to remove the rear panel without damaging the tolex and infact my hands!

I was at lean a year or so back when Nigel was first stocking these. He got some out of the packaging to show me and I must say build quality, materials and weight all impressed me greatly. I would expect them to sound very nice although I haven't tried one myself.

I'm interested in this one. Like you, I''m selling my 2x12 for a couple of 1x12's so I don;t haver the weight to lug around in one lump. and these were one of the possible contenders. Let us know how you get on?

Whilst they are lightweight (subject to the drivers you choose) they are not 'compact' so check the dimensions. That said the dimensions are likely to give a bigger sound or at least feel that way. If I was looking for a cab it would be one of these.

well, mine came today and (obviously this is just first impressions, and just at home volume) they seem pretty good.

they're actually not gigantic, either- i wouldn't call them a compact cab, but i have bigger 2x12s, too (my roadkill badger is smaller, though).

i'm not a massive fan of black cabs, but the montage ones actually look pretty good, for black.

but yeah i mean obviously if you want a choice of colours etc. you're going to have to look elsewhere. probably be a bit more expensive, too.
