I've realised I actually do quite like the mild preamp crunch from the blues junior as a different sort of texture to pedals. Only drawback is how sensitive the master volume suddenly becomes at practice levels once the preamp gain is up around halfway.

I'm contemplating a micro mass just to tame that a bit rather than get the power valves screaming.

It's still most of the cost of a posh OD pedal or Fender Mustang II though.

Might just be an indicator that I'm not playing enough.
