    Interesting...!

It doesn't quite have the big bottom end, top-end 'ring' or the 'elastic' sound of the Marshall, but it's very close considering that it uses a completely different circuit, valves and transformers. And it's *way* better than the stock TT... which I have never liked, to be honest.

Have you done much work on the TNT's in the past? I'm not too bad with electronics but have heard that the traces on these are pretty susceptible to lifting

No. I've never needed to do any board work on one yet - I've worked on some but only for valve changes and one that needed the switches replaced after being thrown across a room .

It is possible that the traces lift easily, a lot on cheaper PCBs do.

The main problem here is the use of lead-free solder (which has a higher melting temperature) on the PCB and an inadequate soldering iron.

You also need to remember that the components are cheap and the PCB expensive.

To remove a component from a PCB with lead-free solder I first resolder the joints with leaded solder.

I then melt the solder joint and carefully pull the lead through. Once you have removed the component you can then clean the pad with solder mop.

Sounds good mate but lead solder can't be bought by the public anymore in the UK.

The lead-free silver solder that Maplins sells is good, actually - it's more expensive but it's so much better it's well worth it. Melts at a lower temperature and wets far better than normal lead-free, to the point where I haven't bothered with leaded for quite a while now. Yes, I know there are cheaper places to get solder from than Maplins! It's just handy (there's a shop near me) and I'm always too lazy to get any until I pretty much run out...
