    Default EL34 or EL34L

time has come to change the powers on the Chub...........so to those in the know - what will 34Ls give me over 34s and is it worth the extra ££

Best place to get em too ? (last time I bought valves was when watford were good to deal with)

    cheers

Not tried them as I'm not a big JJ fan, find their vanilla EL34 a bit muddy. From what I read they are supposed to have a bit more bottom end and less top, in fact more like a 6L6! Depends what you want really .. clean or drive. Best modern production EL34's IMO are Svetlana Winged C's .. bit more gritty than old Mullards but pretty close.

Recent dealings with Watford and Hotrox have been fine.

ta - I read thems less middly than normal JJ EL34s.. more top and bottom......thing is I dont like gritty, like warmth. I needs versatility (hence the chub) Had JJs 6l6s (Harmas, but thems re-badged JJs) to replace the fuck awful sterile GTs in my deville - and was very pleased
