    Default "Scratchy" amp?

So, to put a slight downer on my new (s/h) purchase, the Laney LC15R I bought today is a little "scratchy". Best word I can think of to describe it. Intermittent but annoying, it'd certainly spoil any recording I was planning. It's happening whether I'm plugged in or not and doesn't seem to be any of the pots as they turn freely without the scratchiness.

Any ideas, or should I just return it? Got it from my local Crack Converters so it's on a 60 day warranty.

    *update*

Just had it switched on for a while with the gain and volume on 0 and still getting the occasional crackle if that helps narrow it down? And by occasional I mean once or twice an hour.

    Cracked solder joint?
Had one on one of the PV C30 power t00bz. Wanted to reflow it but decided not to, as the amp fixes itself as soon as it gets hot. Plus the amp's PCB is made Blackstar style and is a pain to work on.
