    I watched a Manring instructional DVD where he uses a hyperbass - and he claimed that the piccolo strings are functional at normal EADG - *bollocks* I thought.

    So I tried it. They are massively floppy but it actually works! They are 20-32-42-52 and they still sound brilliant!

    It's magick, an ancient and forgotten magick.

    And the truss rod didn't need any adjustment whatsoever. Even with effectively zero tension.

    I think I'm in love!

    Have you seen the double shot levers for the Hipshot tuners? They would allow you to both raise and lower the string by a preset amount.

    They could make the Hyperbass a lot more fun!

    I found the tab (and tuning guide) for a tune called "Monkey Businessman" - it's not his best tune but it does seem to be the most simple. So I'm going to give it a try.

    Loving it! Started to write a tune for it, with use of the hipshots. When it's done I'll record and post it.
