Default Anyone play Jump without a Keyboard Player?

4 piece band (singer, drums, bass and one guitar).

    Could it work?

(at the moment I'm not thinking about the solo, just the main structure of the song).

P.S. It was the singers suggestion

Well you can play it on guitar, you could make your own version of it rather than try and ape the exact voicing. It's very easy to play on keys in C though if you have a keyboard.

Yeah, I've just seen a youtube clip of a guy playing it on guitar. Sounded OK, but I'm not totally convinced. Still I'm up for re-arranging it...and playing the solo on a Telecaster

Chances are our singer will want to change the key anyway.

Get a Steinberger. or maybe use a volume Wah pedal and some effects and finger style it and use your floyd as well? You are going to look like a right homo trying to play the synth part on a guitar what ever you do.

Just go down the charity shop and get a kids keyboard and mic it up to the PA. It could be your party piece. You can hide it behind a cab and run it through some effects. No one needs to know its a kids keyboard...unless you accidentally select 'French Horn' or hitthe automated Postman Pat melody and drumbeat....LMFAO That would be kind of hard to recover from.

Or just use simultaneous plucking fingerstyle and use your vol pot to swell it, EVH style and add in a bunch of harmonic floyd squeal fills. But people are seriously going to think you are killing it. Whatever you do on the guitar it is going to end up sounding more like 'Dance the Night Away' then Jump.

Bassist left hand plays the bass part.

Right hand taps the keys part.

    Simples!

probably told this story before but the singer in my friend's band made them do Zep's Rock'N'Roll in E and it was a bit rubbish. They played it at a wedding and, yes, Robert Plant was a guest and, yes, he got up and sang it with them whilst they played the awful E version.

I can wipe my ass with a Telecaster, does this make me talented? It's just a guitar at the end of the day.

Just put the original on while you take a smoko half way through the set. You are gonna kill it whatever you do. You will never get close to that Roth/EVH sound. Problem solved! You are not really going to make us endure an Indian noseflute instrumental version in F minor are you? C'mon, you're only doing it for yourselves! Be honest!

Is it true that Robert Plant has 360 degree vision?

I'm sensing that sambostar isn't keen on the idea!
