    Default Under £600 electro acoustic

I have a Breedlove acoustic which holds sentimental value. I dropped it the other day and so am seriously considering retiring it to home use and buying another for everyday/road use.

I would have about £400-600 to spend. I want electro acoustic and ideally new as I'm not sure when I'll have the funds to buy it, so no point looking at classifieds now.

Any suggestions? I like concert body shapes rather than dreadnaughts but am open to suggestions.

Hi, I have one of these and think it's great for the money. Some good solid wood, great tone and feel and not too big.

only the top - but I have heard good things about these.

I know tanglewood do an all solid 'om sized' a/e for around £650 - I think its in the 'Sundance' series.

TBH tho, if you're going to be plugged in most of the time, Im not sure how much an "all solid" is going to matter

There is of course the ubiquitous Yamaha APX's...........for 'very plugged' in sounds

Freshman is another brand to check out

The top is solid cedar, with solid mahogany back and sides with Maple and Herringbone binding. The neck is a single piece of mahogany, the fingerboard and bridge are rosewood, and all have a smooth satin finish.

only repeating what it says on their website for the model you linked to , if it doesnt state solid, it usually isnt and at £350 or so its really not likely to be

I've noticed there are lots of Yamaha acoustics at this price range. But, for some reason, I've never really been drawn to them. Anyone had any experience with ones at the £500-£600 mark?

Actually the same goes for Takemines...

Hi Bertie, I copied the text from a website selling them, it mentions 'Solid' on a few different sites (but not all) and looking inside mine it's the same mahogany grain and colour on the sides.

Anyhow it's only a noisy box with a hole in it

I'd try for a Faith if I had that kind of budget. Tone, looks, ease of handling, perfect intonation. Tried others in similar or slightly lower price brackets but none gave me confidence in the intonation and I didn't like the tone either. Faith FTW.

Try to find a used Maton EM225c or EM325c.

They are not particularly well known in this country but they are some great Australian-made acoustics.
