Default Best lightweight amp for club gigs?

Can anyone recommend a good lightweight bass combo? I've been using a line6 lowdown 150 for a while now and while its does the job (especially with the Direct out) it would be really useful to get something slightly more compact, lighter and hopefully a little louder! I live on the top floor of a building with no elevator and so the lowdown can be a bit of a nightmare whenever I need to get it up the stairs, and space is very much at a premium in the car for kit as well. I keep coming back to the TC electronic BG250 which is less than 16Kg, but am I missing anything? A lightweight head and cab perhaps?

Slightly biased as I'm selling some - but the Mark Bass Club 121H cabs are brilliant. 1x12. 400W handling and have a tilt back design that allows them to be pointed up at you a bit like a monitor.

One of them and a Mark Bass LM3 head (Or an F1) would be very light and really versatile, and sound better than the TC kit.

Good call on the Mark Bass cab, seems particularly lightweight. Combined with the MB head might be pushing out of my price range but certainly there are other good heads out there.

    ahem: http://forum.musicradar.com/showthre...Club-121H-cabs

There is a Mark Bass LM2 250W head as well - they can come up really cheap sometimes.

But I'd also suggest looking at the EBS Reidmar head. It claims it is only 250W BUT EBS are honest about their power ratings!! It is at least as loud as the 500W Mark Bass LM3

Can't argue with the Markbass cabs idea, and to throw in another option for heads have a look at the Ampeg PortaFlex ones (PF350 and PF500); used one of the smaller ones at the weekend and was very impressed by both sound and portability!

There is a PF350 on basschat at the mo, and Mark Bass CMD 121H combo for silly money. That combo is excellent !
