Default "20 Scariest Musicians and Bands"

    On the homepage.

    http://www.musicradar.com/news/guita...bands-566363/1

    Ozzy Osbourne is not scary.

Bunch of bollocks frankly. I don't think they've ever heard of Varg Vikernes. Black metal musician, murderer, church arsonist, reasonably prolific keyboard warrior, notorious fascist and all-round good time guy.

No-one on that list is even a convicted murderer. Come on MusicRadar, you can do better than that.

If you want to be truly shit-scared by what the black metal scene can produce, look up Silencer. There's a lot of rumours and uncertainty, but if you believe the back-story behind the vocalist (I do, it seems likely) and you decide to listen to it (I advise against it if you believe the back-story), have fun sleeping.

Pretty much, it's the sound of a man having a complete, screaming, self-lacerating mental breakdown.

I find that much scarier than I find John 5.

I also have some videos of myself playing guitar. Here they are.

It's going to be the 20 scariest famous musicians though. No one cares about people they haven't heard of.

They aren't going to put Ted Bundy on there just because he played the spoons.

I see where you're coming from, and obviously scariness is subjective (obviously, idiots find John 5 scary despite the fact that he's essentially a normal bloke who's rather good at guitar and wears make-up) but I can never quite understand how Ozzy Osbourne is scarier than anyone from the notoriously stabby, church-burningy Norwegian black metal scene.

EDIT: Also, loads of people have heard of Varg Vikernes, particularly those who watched Norwegian national news in the early 90s. All joking aside, he's probably better-known than at least a few of the people on that list. Probably the most notorious from that whole Norwegian scene.

You should think yourself lucky. In the period when Robbie Williams was inexplicably famous he was voted top on a list of rock wildmen.

Don't forget Ozzy has been done for burglary and attempted murder in his time.

A completely non biased list would have to have Charles Manson at the top.

I think your argument would hold more water if you addressed him by his correct title, Count Grishnackh.

Yes, I believe he had a record released. He was certainly well in with record producers etc.

    That is one scary bloke.
    Cheers,

I think you're missing the main flaw with all of them: when faced with a fully-grown man dressed as a monster and covered in makeup, it's hard to avoid laughing.

    Scary? Really?

Surely the scariest musicians would have to be the guys in the Massed Bands of the Royal Marines. They have artillery and automatic weapons, and know how to use them.

Your Norwegian fairy would last about half a second if he ever got on the wrong side of one of those blokes.

And they are all insane! They have their own special societies such as the Royal Marine Glass Eating Club! It's just that they can control their insanity and violent tendancies until they decide to apply them in a dedicated and sustained manner. Good lads all round.
Maturity is realizing that a few bad examples don't represent the whole.
