Focusrite Scarlett 18i6

Hi,
My Focusrtite Scarlett 18i6 just arrived, i have plugged it all in installed latest drivers, and everything connected to it such as my M50 i can hear out of my speakers however I cant get any audio into cubase, i have mapped everything to the right inputs/outputs etc in VST Connections, they are all mono tracks i get nothing into cubase no input, no output. When i switch to a stereo input i can get input in but obviously only out of one speaker as its one side of stereo. Also when i try to watch a youtube video and play music in itunes it just stops and i have no audio. This is my first Focusrite product and im not impressed. Anyone be able to help me out?
