GLArrrrrghh!!! Heh! Well there is always that. But seriously it can be a cheap way to learn about MIDI.

I bought a Yamaha PSS-790 (don't, useless minikeys) and that has 8, 50x25mm pads along the front that are assignable to any sound so you can setup a "drumkit" of sorts and bash out a rythm and record it on the built in sequencer (+ Bosssa nova as well if you like!). Thus you have an audible drum track to jam to and the data gets recorded along with the guitar widdlles.
