Default Yamaha THR - any latency problems?

I do rather fancy one of those THR10s...
I love the concept and the styling of it, and your user reviews have been great.
However, one of the selling points for me is the one-box recording option. I've tried PC recording before but latency problems really got on my nerves. Hearing things half a second later just ain't right!
How does the THR fare with latency?
I have a new i7 quad core laptop running W7 and would really like to try PC recording again.

Personally, no problems at all here using a THR10 and Garageband.

You shouldn't have any latency issues with it or any digital modeller/multi FX that is streaming digital audio as the A/D conversion isn't happening at ur PC..its already entering your PC as a digital signal anyway! Your previous latency issues will also have just been a settings problem in your soundcard/audio interface...set wrong and you get that irritating latency. Set right its happy days! And in this dept I'm a noob!

Aha! I was under the impression that latency is a potential problem with any guitar to computer set up. Good to know different!
So next question - what's that Cubase AI like? Is it limited?

I found a bit of latency, in that I started using it about 6 months ago and I'm still waiting for a decent tone to come out of it.

I have a THR-5. I don't get the fuss about them. You'd be as well using one of those mini marshall stacks and pocketing the extra 130 quid. They sound just as you'd expect something with a miniscule speaker to sound.

Hmmm. That seems to contradict the majority opinion.
My problem is location. I'm in north east Scotland and don't have all the goodies available to try that most folk on here have so usually buy mail order based on reviews. And forumite reviews count for a lot in my book.
I didn't ever expect the THR to sound like a full amp, but for a living room amp it sounds fantastic on paper. Plus it's an iPod speaker system. And a recording interface!

I was looking at the Komplete Audio 6 interface online at the weekend which looks like a stunning bit of kit, but it's just a computer interface which doesn't really work as a practice amp. It comes with Guitar Rig 5 but software amps on computers don't really work for me, I prefer my amp to be a box with knobs and buttons I can quickly plug in to.

I had a Line 6 Flextone II for a decade so I'm used to modelled sounds. I actually really miss my Flextone.

It does, doesn't it. I bought it based on the reviews and I was very dissappointed. I just don't see the point of it - I would rather plug into a decent amp and actually sound good rather than a wasp-in-a-jam-jar 1cm speaker. Otherwise I may as well play unplugged.

IMO you'd be better off picking up a Micro Cube or one of the small Spiders or something similar.
