    Default Anyone use Allianz Musical Insurance or any other?

    Hi

    I guess we all know whatever we own ends up owning us. I insured my stuff with Allianz(Guitar Amp Cab etc).

    They say they also insure Effects as well, the whole lot, thats the next step.

    Tell me about who insures your stuff. Allianz seem to be the most well known, but yours may differ, you may know a reaaly great insurance company.

    PS i am only insured for at home as I am not gigging yet. YMMV

    Thanks

    Jon.

    I've used MusicGuard for the last few years. Good pricing, website is easy to use when you need to make changes to your insured inventory, and they quickly paid out a claim I made in 2007 for a damaged amp.

    I've used Musicguard for years with no hassle. Never had a claim though, so can't speak for that side of service!

    Hi

    @Dazza1004

    It's been a while since I read through my "Contents" insurance. But I would lay a pound to a penny that it would not be covered. Guitars and Amps and Cabs, Pedals and Pedalboards and Power supplies I would have thought would be classed as specialist equipment. Not every house has them, they are not everyday items.

    For added peace of mind I would rather fork out £40 ish for a year rather than be biting my fingernails if the worst did happen. If your gear runs into £1000's rather than £100's, would you risk it?

    Thanks

    If it never leaves the house, a specific rider on the home contents might be cheaper. My 'gigging' insurance is about 200quid a year, I think.

    I use Allianz, insured about 8 grand's worth of gear for £9 a month, bargain.
