What are the best mini pc's out there and what are the disadvantages of them compared to standard sized pc's ?

Do you mean nettops (Atom or Bulldozer) or just small regular desktops?

For nettops ebuyer have a good range of Lenovo and Acer.

For web browsing etc they will be fine, but will struggle with video editing, games and the like.

Is it "Nettops" they call them. Aren't they severely limited in/output wise ?
I'm after something predominantly for web browsing that is small, quiet, has plenty of USB inputs and isn't super slow.

Would be fine for webby stuff.

You could get one cheaper if you don't mind putting Linux on it.

Think I'd prefer something loaded with Intel Pentium or AMD athlon particualrly if it's going to be running Windows 7.

If you want something beefier than that then you won't be in the netbook segment anymore and I don't know much about regular desktops.
