I love the TMC version but not seen the video before -eek - never heard the original before either - now I think I prefer that.
Although "a voice" doesn't usually do much for me, what a voice Buckley had.. and how modern and timeless the song still sounds.
    Spine tingling stuff.

Right .. I've got a Mustang II and I think you should try adding some of the vibratone - or whatever they call it.
I've got a nice patch that has subtle amounts of vibratone, reverb and tape delay and it's not a million miles away.
You'll need to use Fuse to set it up.
(for those not knowing: you connect the Mustang to a computer and fire up Fuse and it shows you a fancy interface where you can change the amps and effects [Mustang III and above can do it all on the amp so no need for damn computer fiddling while you play])

    thanks for the advice everyone.
i have tried to replicate the sound using a simple compressor pedal going into a fender twin reverb.
i then have the out signal going into an arena reverb/stereo tape delay and sine chorus modulation rack modules
as you can tell i am just trying stuff out to try and get close to the sound.

although it is sounding more like the sound i want,it still doesn't have the shimmer/crystal sound that i am aiming for (admittedly there's only so much you can do with a reasonably priced amp/humbucker les paul type guitar (i bet he used a single coiled type guitar/maybe a jaguar or something).

by far the hardest part though is trying to work out what he is playing (as i suck at working out stuff from listening alone).
am playing standard tuning and there are some pretty (for me anyhoo) unorthodox chords going on (trying to work them out/remember them is proving a bit tricky for me.)

i will keep on trying to learn it though,as i really love their cover/his guitar playing.
i have a lovely vintage lemon drop guitar
