I've had a couple of the spalted mapled top versions of them and loved them! Great rock guitar good coil tapped tone and put together very well (I gigged em a lot!) Sorry I sold em. If I happened across another spalted maple one I think I would snap it up (at the right price!) Don't sound like or play like a tele its mahogany and has a fixed neck! Its more like an SG in that respect!
I very nearly bought the red one of these. I really liked it, the pickups are excellent. No, it doesn't sound or feel like a traditional tele, but that's completely irrelevant. Think of it as a twist on a classic. I think it still has the 25.5" scale length, which would make it comparable to set neck esp ltd's and jacksons. It's not a shreddy guitar in the sense of these though, and has a very classic voice.
And it has coil taps. Use these with a compressor and you can get closer to a traditional tele sound anyway (close enough for laypeople). If the neck joint is well done, you might find it has a bit more sustain than a tele too. A very versatile beast. I would have changed the bridge, for personal taste.

Hi, I finally got the chance to look at the guitar in Guitar Guitar in Newcastle yesterday but unfortunately the neck just felt a little too flat. I had a feeling it might but I really wanted to try it in hope that it might feel fine as the guitar looks lovely. I did also notice some rough nut slots on both the red and amber colour guitars, not sure if this had something to do with the graph tech nuts but its didnt look great so I imagine they would have needed some work. I also noticed the relief in the neck was huge, seemed like it was well over a mili, closer to two although i realise as long as the truss rod was okay this would be a quick fix. Alas, a lovely guitar but not quite for me. Looks like I might go for a Mexican standard and then do a couple of mods, pick ups and tuners etc. While I'm on the subject does anyone have any ideas on the best tele pick ups in case I do go ahead?? Also, can anyone help with a tele choice? I'm really looking for a bridge humbucker, vintage styling, possibly a satin neck, not sure and definately 9.5 radius neck minimum. Thanks for all the advice from everyone.

I have just noticed the Road Worn Player Series Tele and it seems to tick most boxes although havent had the chance to try one yet. One thing I noticed though was that the picture on the guitar guitar website has the controls (volume knob etc) the standard way round but the videos at the bottom of the page all have the controls the wrong way around. Anyone have any ideas? I do know that the blacktop teles have the controls the wrong way around but I'm puzzled......
