Default FS: Yamaha SB2/box of bits

An almost complete vintage (late 60s) Yamaha SB2.

Someone long before I owned it stripped the finish off both body and headstock - I've put a bit of primer on the latter but don't have time to finish it so I'm offering it for sale to someone who'd like a project to play with.

The tuners are incomplete, so a new set would probably be needed, the same goes for the bridge, where the grub screws to raise and lower the saddles appear to have been supeglued in.

The pickups/electrics are original, as is the scratchplate.

The frets have been replaced, but not levelled.

So it's mostly all there and wouldn't necessarily need a lot spending on it to get it playable.

    £50 plus shipping.
They're justified and they're ancient, and they drive an ice cream van.

    That's looking very tempting, Paul.

I just came on hoping for some cheap bass spam - it's between buying a cheap one for myself or fixing up my brother's P-bass copy, which isn't too good at the moment.

A few more details about what it'd need doing would be useful, as I'm not too well up on setting up basses etc. but could do with a half-decent one for recording with and the odd jam session.

I'm guessing it's pretty heavy too, so an estimate of postage would be useful. Tbh, I wouldn't bother and I'd just fix up my brother's, but this one looks way cool.

    Sorry !

I couldn't decide from your reply if you wanted it or not

I'll sort out the details tomorrow.

Ah - I was asking for general info about what else it needs to sort it out, as I'm not too well up on basses mate.

I'm going to have a go at sorting out my bro's for now - as mentioned in another thread - but I'm not very hopeful that it'll be up to much.
