Default Any love for the sg junior ?

I've been looking at these (online) for a while now, before venturing out to try one.
I've seen vintage ones and newer ones, but this is the one I like, despite my usual snobbery for Custom Shop / Vintage stuff :

It's probably being played in pedal city, but I like what he says about the neck being wide - may suit my wide flat fingers (yeah I shoulda been a bass player )

I think the video is a very decent attempt to put across SG + P 90's in 2 minutes. More efficient than listening to Live at Leeds.
Worth £600? Yeah I think it probably is. But there has never been a better time to buy an old one.

I don't know about this model, but years ago I used to play our singer's (genuine sixties) SG Junior ... and that sound was what it used to produce through a good valve amp. Pretty well one of my all time favourite guitars. No doubt you will have somebody grumbling on about the baked maple fretboard ... but I see baked maple or for that mater Richlite as simply a way of economising on rare timbers.
Because of our singers Junior I bought a LP Special ... which again sounded wonderful.

SGs with P90s are awesome. I've never played a Jr, but I can't imagine they could ever be anything but amazing

People seem to think 60s ones are worth a fortune but Ive picked ( 65 onwards) them up for £1400 upwards. They are amazing guitars. I could gig with one and an esquire. Match in heaven...

I have a soft spot for these type of guitars. Very versatile for such simplicity.

No, they really do sound like that straight into an old fashioned low-to-middling gain valve amp. If you don't believe it then just get hold of a copy of The Who's "Live at Leeds" :-)

I've actually only played original '60s ones (and bitterly regret not buying one back when they were really cheap and unfashionable...) and love them (along with the slightly posher 2 x P90 Special) to pieces. At the moment I'm relying on a PRS Singlecut SE Soapbar and a Peerless Gigmaster for my P90 fix but that video's actually got my GAS reflex twitching mightily because it looks and sounds pretty much bang on!
