To be fair, a Mexican 70s job will almost certainly be better than a real 1970s Strat - I played a lot of 70s and my 1999 Classic was better than the lot. Mind you, it's also better than the 1958 and 1963 Strats I've played. Maybe I was lucky, but maybe not:

And you'll need a crane and back support if it's like the one I have just re wired for a customer just under 11lbs ... I kid you not.

I'm only buying one for self-indulgence (ergo : sit on the sofa and widdle while ignoring the kids). I doubt It will ever see a strap, those days are long gone
