If I see a thread about Floyds, I ignore it because they're not my thing. I allow those who are interested to get on with it in peace. Just saying.

    There's this: http://www.swapz.co.uk/swapz/3142584...om_double_cut/
    Nowt to do with me..

It's up for trade, but I think there's usually a cash alternative.. He'll need talking down from the value he's put on it, though, I should think..

    Relax, it's a running gag.

Don't make me post the Lonnie Mack Flying V picture again .

If I could have found a V with a P90s and a Bigsby, I would have... but sadly I can only find either/or, not both.

    Here's a couple...

(There's an Epiphone one of these too, it's not that expensive.)

I wouldn't, because I don't really like Floyds either. Fixed bridge is best bridge.

Anyway, as p90fool says, it's a running gag.

I don't even hate Bigsbys that much, I just think they're a bit of an eyesore on many guitars and are functionally a bit rubbish compared to various other tremolo systems out there... if I picked up a guitar with one in a shop, I'd probably give it a wobble regardless. Wouldn't want to own one though.
My name is Connor and I have a GAS problem.

I also have some videos of myself playing guitar. Here they are.

I agree with that - and I love Bigsbys... but they only belong on guitars that are "rock 'n' roll" or a bit "industrial". Teles, Les Pauls, semi-hollows, Mosrites etc. Definitely not on anything 'refined' or 'modern' - so not on Firebirds, Explorers, or even SGs, certainly not on a Strat (seen it done...), and even a bit questionable on many Rickenbackers. The Lonnie Mack V is the bizarre exception, and probably only because *he* did it - although there is an odd symmetry to the shape of the guitar and the shape of the tailpiece that "fits" somehow. (Horseshoe ones look dreadful on Vs though, seen that done too.)

Ah, not true at all! The Bigsby is one of the very best, as long as you don't want to divebomb. If the guitar is set up properly it's extremely tuning-stable, it's one of the very few fully-floating types that can just about survive a string break without going wildly out of tune (although this may have more to do with the type of music the guitars are normally used for ), it's virtually maintenance-free, and the sole disadvantage I can really think of is that it's not the easiest to re-string... although not too bad when you're used to it, and there are tricks that help.

They look utterly hateful on Vs... don't like Bigsbys or Vibrolas on SGs either... never had the pleasure of seeing one on an Explorer. Seen on on a Strat though... I threw up in my mouth a bit.

Don't like them on Teles either, and they aren't much better on Les Pauls. They only really look "right" to me on big-bodied (generally single-cutaway) guitars like Gretsches etc.

    Peerless.jpg

It's a Peerless Gigmaster SC which, if The Wisdom Of The Internet is to be believed makes it a close cousin to the Epi ES175 - I make no apology for having posted this picture loads of times because:

A I think it's a pretty damned cool looking guitar

    and

    B) it's just so damned much fun to play :-)
