Default The Mighty Vipers need a trumpet player! (Barnsley/Leeds/Rochdale area)

So we've recently lost our trumpet player and our looking for a dedicated, experienced player with a keen sense for latin flair to join us.

Excluding my self, the rest of the band played together for 10 years as the Catch-It Kebabs, a ska punk band completing successful European tours and releasing two albums with the Do The Dog Label.

We started the Mighty Vipers to branch out into new territory and give audiences something to dance to and enjoy.
"Playing jump up party music aimed squarely at the dancefloor." as our bassist puts it.

We meld a cocktail of styles from latin, calypso and funk to reggae, swing and ska, even blending in old school hip hop vibes from 90s summer jams. We try not to pin ourselves down too much to one genre as long as it's grooving and bouncy.
Our influences are vast and varied but some worth mentioning are: Ozomatli, The Aggrolites, James Brown, Django Reinhardt, The Skatalites, Fela Kuti, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Louis Prima, Jurassic 5 and a host of ska punk bands.
We're looking for a player with great rhythm and also the creativity and drive to help write new material.

We currently have a studio to practice in Barnsley so transport would be a benefit. However, I commute from Leeds so a local player is more than welcome to catch a lift from me.

We also have a few demos we're recording at the moment that I can send you if interested.

Let me know if you're down for the party via a PM or give me a call on 07592598092.

is the current trumpeter so ugly we aren't allowed to see his face?

Nice track, good luck.I don't know where trumpeters hang out, we couldn't find one when we tried ( although, TBH, we didn't try that hard I suppose).

Haha, in fairness he gets more girls than all of us combined (not saying much as most of the band are married or in relationships.) Just an unfortunate camera angle.
