Default Help Programing a Nord Lead.

I've got a Nord lead, I bought it a while back since I wanted something with hardware knobs for each function to help me learn more about which things can produce which sounds and tones.

Problem is, I'm starting to run out of ideas with it. I use for techno, so I do basslines with it and stabs, but I cant really get the sounds and tones that different. The FM button and the mod envelope are nice to add movement and interest, but I'm wondering if I'm missing something.

Does anyone have any tips/hints/experience programing a Nord lead,or links to any resources?

try different envelopes for each layer, you know you can layer four sets two oss's. im taking it youve done the typical hoover sound etc. the thing that really made a diiference to me was getting it midi sync'd so the parameters can edited saved then layered, ie a filter sweep then an attack change and a filter evelope change. good luck the nords a beautifull piece of kit, amazingly versitile.

    Thanks, some good advice there!

What program do you use to midi-control it? I've been using live but its a bit clumsy with clip/arrange envelpes.

to be honest the way i usually do it is with my mpc as theres nothing to set up you just press record and wiggle the knobs. i know i should set all the parameters in cubase but cant be bothered as im selling my nord. it automatically recognises the attack and release of the envelopes and filt freq but not much else. you need to check the manual for the cc no.'s of each parameter and name the lanes in your daw. this really is too much for me. i find it hinders the productive process, hence changing to software and selling up.
a good hint for programming is try really long attack times on one of the layers and then it takes along time to come in and helps sounds to develop. also play witht the delay on the mod env att. best luck.
