    On March 5th, a collection of 12 previously unreleased recordings by Jimi Hendrix will see the light. People, Hell and Angels follows Hendrix in 1968 and 1969 as he works on material apart from the Jimi Hendrix Experience and suggests new, experimental directions.

    The legendary guitarist was considering these new sounds for First Rays of the New Rising Sun, the planned double-album follow-up to Electric Ladyland. Hendrix toys with horns, keyboards, percussion and a second guitar, exploring fresh diversions from his legendary guitarwork

    when hendrix built his studio he literally went in there turned on the recorder and played for hours, days at a time, all being recorded.

    These recordings I believe are just snippets of those tapes, with god knows what done to them, probably the 'band' dubbed, theres a reason they havent been released previously in 40 years, janies not scrapingthe barrel she's just topped up and started digging through another one....

    It sounds interesting, I would hope the tracks are raw recordings, takes etc. Hendrix material that has been reworked, heavily remixed or whatever I would class as scraping the barrel.

    I wonder who else you might be able to hear on the tracks too, that could be cool - maybe Winwood or Kooper on keys again?
