You should, it's pretty good. Of course it's not Zep in their prime but that's not what it's about.

Page was always shit live. It's no surprise that he's just as bad now he's much older

He was shit in that as well! JPJ and Bonzo held that show together.

I'm a HUGE zep fan, by the way. I've just seen a LOT of recordings of Pagey playing totally mince live.

Page live pre smack habit was pretty good. Nowt wrong with the playing on Albert Hall, & Earls Court (I have the whole show on a bootleg) and How the West Was Won is excellent. Page post 1975 seems to have been a colision of hard drugs and no practising or playing. I saw the BBC stuff last night and it was not as bad as some of the posts led me to expect/fear. But I have not seen a single post 75 Page live event without at least one glaring mistake on it.

Watched the first half of the BBC version so far. Just not as bad as it seems to have been made out on here. A bit sedate maybe but Jimmy was making an effort at busting some moves rather than totally eyes down on the note for note stuff. Lot of modulation effects going on though that I don't quite remember on all of the originals but they only had the stage of the O2 and not a time machine back to 1974 so that's all fine.

    Just watched the BBC highlights.

I thought JPJ was awesome and Plant sounded great (though his voice has changed over the years). Bonham Jr clearly isn't his dad, but then neither is anyone else on the planet (I would have liked to have heard the proposed Dave Grohl line up).
Pagey was a bit wonkey on some of his solos, but then that's been the case since the late 70's.

Anyone who thinks Zep or Page weren't that great live needs to hear the 1971 concert on disk 2 of BBC sessions. Massively pisses on Song Remains the Same which I don't really like and neither did the band.

I watched some of this earlier and it certainly wasn't as bad as I was expecting from the posts here. Quite enjoyed it actually.

I saw it at the cinema, then on telly the other night. Overall it's good, but I did wince a bit at Jimmy's solos.

There are some cracking boots of the band at their peak which put any of the official releases in the shade (except maybe HTWWW). Seek out recordings from the Europe 73 run, with the German shows being real highlights.
